    Q: WHAT ARE THE 2015 CATEGORIES FOR SUBMITTING WORK?

    • "Physical Art": A physical piece of art that uses the actual Red Bull can as the primary material in the final work.
    • "Digital Displayed Art": A work of art that can be displayed on a screen and includes a digital version of the Red Bull can in the final piece. We are not designating a specific format or genre. Submissions could take the form of an animation, a digital short film, stop motion, or GIF. Essentially any displayed digital medium is fair game.
    • "Interactive Installation Art": A piece of artwork that merges both the physical and digital world and uses the Red Bull can as its primary source of inspiration.

  • Selection of Finalists

    Q: HOW MANY PIECES WILL BE SELECTED FOR DISPLAY IN FINAL EXHIBITION?

    A: All final selected pieces will be included and exhibited in the Red Bull Art of Can Exhibition to take place at Dilworth Park in Philadelphia from October 1 to 8, 2015. There will not be a designated # of pieces per category. Final pieces will be selected based on judging criteria listed below.

    The only exception is for the "Interactive Installation Art" category where a single piece of work will be selected and exhibited during final exhibition.

    Judging Criteria:

    • Creative Concept (overall idea behind the piece of work)
    • Conceptual Execution (how well did the piece translate the concept idea)
    • Design/ Construction (how well is the piece made/ special effort/ unusual medium)

    Q: WHAT’S THE PRIZING?

    A: Aside from fame and glory, each category will have the following prizing:

    Physical Art: A grant to help further and support future work by the participant.

    • 1st place at $2500.00 cash grant
    • 2nd place at $1000.00 cash grant
    • 3rd place at $500.00 cash grant
    • Top (3) winners will be announced on the opening night of the exhibition on October 2nd, 2015.

    Digital Displayed Art: A grant to help further and support future work by the participant.

    • 1st place at $2500.00 cash grant
    • 2nd place at $1000.00 cash grant
    • 3rd place at $500.00 cash grant
    • Top (3) winners will be announced on the opening night of the exhibition on October 2nd, 2015.

    Interactive Installation Art: Red Bull Art of Can will select one participant's submission to give wings and bring to life at the final Red Bull Art of Can exhibition to take place at Dilworth Park in Philadelphia. Selected creator/ team of the winning concept will be provided with resources and support, including a $10,000 cash grant. Winner in this category will be announced no later than July 15, 2015.

    Q: HOW WILL EXHIBIT FINALISTS AND PRIZE WINNERS BE SELECTED?

    A: All finalists and winners to be selected by a panel of experts from various art & cultural backgrounds, including (but not limited to):

    • Josh Goldblum, Founder & CEO at Bluecadet
    • Chuck Treece, Musician
    • Michael Enright, Professor of Digital Arts at Pratt Institute
    • Darla Jackson, Owner at Philadelphia Sculpture Gym
    • Silvi Naci, Curator at Liquid Art House

    Q: WILL FINALIST PARTICPANTS BE INVITED TO ATTEND FINAL EXHIBITION?

    A: Yes, all finalists will be invited and encouraged to attend the exhibit, including the opening night awards ceremony on Friday, October 2. However, all necessary travel arrangements are at the participant’s expense.
